UPDATE: Charleston Man Shares Shooting Experience

UPDATE 11/1/13 @ 10:55 p.m.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Charleston man returned home Friday to a bullet-ridden home. Now, he's sharing his scary experience.

"Kneeling down beside the bed, playing on the phone, when all of a sudden bullet whizzes through past my head," Adorian Pope said.

The next time Pope kneels by his bed, it might be for a prayer.

He says the shooting at his home Thursday night was like a nightmare -- one he didn't think he'd wake up from.

"I just hear the one, and then one after that, and it's like, 'I'm done,'" Pope said.

Following the gunfire, Pope took off to his dad's house. On Friday, WSAZ.com followed him around on his first trip back.

Holes in the side of his house show just how close the bullets were to hitting Pope. One even hit the corner of his mattress before striking the far wall.

While he doesn't know why someone would shoot at his place, one thing is for certain; every day will now mean just a little bit more.

"Thank God, I'm still alive. That's all I can think of," Pope said.
