GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Two men from Michigan have been arrested on drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop in Greenup County early Sunday morning.
Greenup County Sheriff Deputies arrested Kenneth Oliver, 24, and Charles Gillard, 41, both of Stanwood, Michigan, following the stop on U.S. 23 North in the South Portsmouth area about 1 a.m.
Sheriff Keith Cooper says a deputy noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car.
During a search of the car, the deputy says he found several illegal drugs, a large amount of marijuana and controlled substances. Also confiscated were several deadly weapons and a large sum of money.
Oliver was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, public intoxication, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Gillard was charged with DUI, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon.
