PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a traffic stop in Portsmouth turned into a drug bust.
The incident happened after troopers stopped a car on 13th Street in Portsmouth at 3:05 a.m. Thursday for a moving violation.
The driver, Lennon L. Brown, 29, of Portsmouth, was arrested for operating a vehicle while under the influence.
During a search, troopers say they found a baggie containing 24 individual bags of crack cocaine in Brown’s pants pocket. They also seized $2,710 in cash.
Troopers said the drugs have a street value of approximately $2,600.
After the drug find, Brown was charged with possession of cocaine and trafficking cocaine.
Brown is now in the Scioto County Jail.
