PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A traffic stop led to a kidnapping arrest in Putnam County.

It happened Tuesday night on Route 25 north in the Rock Branch area.

Deputies say Robert Tucker pulled a knife on his girlfriend, forced her into a truck at a gas station and then drove off.

When a deputy spotted Tucker driving erratically, he pulled him over. Deputies say Tucker's knuckles were bleeding from punching the stereo controls, and he had stabbed the driver's seat with the knife.

Deputies said Tucker repeatedly told the girlfriend he was going to beat her, gut her with the knife and throw her into the water.

Tucker faces numerous charges.
