UPDATE: Train Derails in Johnson County

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WSAZ) -- The investigation continues into what caused a train derailment in Johnson County.

The railroad crossing at Highway 581 in Thealka was closed for several hours Sunday night, but is now back open.

Emergency management officials say it happened at the CSX rail yard.

We're told a locomotive and four coal cars were involved.

Officials say the cars remained upright and were unloaded at the time of the incident.

No one was hurt in the derailment.

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A train derailment caused some some traffic troubles in Johnson County.

911 dispatchers say it happened on Route 581 just outside Paintsville city limits Sunday night.

We're told CSX is trying to clean everything up and clear the road way.

No word on the number of cars that left the track.
