Power Restored to Thousands in Kanawha County

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The lights are back on for thousands of people who lost power in Kanawha County.

A transformer blew about 9:00 p.m. Sunday. The situation knocked out power to about 2,700 customers in Malden, Rand and Belle.

Crews were able to get the problem fixed early Monday morning.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Thousands of people are without power in Kanawha County Sunday night.

911 dispatchers say about 9:00 p.m., a transformer blew.

It's affecting AEP customers in the Malden, Rand and Belle areas.

Overall, 2,695 customers have lost power. No word yet when it will be restored.
