HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An electrical transformer explosion caused traffic trouble and knocked out power near Marshall University.
It happened Sunday about 10 p.m. near the intersection of 20th Street and 5th Avenue. The force of the blast snapped poles and brought down adjacent power lines as well.
No one was hurt.
Traffic control officers were called in to direct drivers through intersections that had lost power. It's not yet known what caused the transformer to explode.
