PIKEVILLE, KY. (WSAZ) -- Kentucky State Police are warning folks in parts of eastern Kentucky involving what they say is a internet scam.
Troopers say it’s being done through Craigslist. They say the perpetrators are purchasing items and sending the seller cashier checks in amounts greater than the negotiated amount. They then ask the seller to cash the check, keep $50 for their troubles and send the remainder to the United Kingdom.
KSP is asking that anyone who receives this type of online solicitation to contact them.
