UPDATE 8/31/12 @ 6:30 p.m.
CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A family is counting their blessings in the midst of disaster Friday after a tractor-trailer crashed into their home in Carter County.
It destroyed the house and almost everything inside.
But incredibly, no one from that family was hurt.
It was just 13 minutes after Justin Stone's wife left their home when the semi ran off Interstate 64, jumped a creek and crashed into the mobile home.
Stone says as devastating as this is, it could've been a lot worse.
The truck went right through his children's bedroom. Stone's just thankful no one was inside. His family lost just about everything from that part of the house -- something that's hard to explain to his three kids.
"They understand it's gonna be rough for a while,” Stone said. “You know, we're gonna be with family for a while. Until we find another place to live and start all over again."
The Carter County Sheriff says it appears the truck driver suffered some sort of medical problem that caused the crash. His office is still investigating.
There is no word on the truck driver's condition.
Justin Stone is a volunteer firefighter in Grayson. He says his fellow firefighters have made dealing with all of this easier. He's very grateful for the outpouring of support from them, along with friends and family.
They say the driver was west bound on I-64 when he lost control, ran off the road and into a mobile home.
It all happened about 5:30 p.m. near Grayson, Ky.
Dispatchers say no one was inside the home at the time of the crash.
They say the driver was thrown from the truck during the accident and received some injuries.
His name and the status of his condition has not been released yet.
