I-64 near Teays Valley Reopens After Two Accidents

UPDATE @ 2:48 a.m.
PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The westbound lanes of Interstate 64 in Teays Valley have reopened after two separate accidents.

The two accidents happened about 1 p.m. Thursday. Putnam County 911 Dispatchers say one of the accidents happened right before the Teays Valley exit, the other happened just past the exit.

An RV was involved in one of the accidents and it appears a cable barrier prevented it from crossing the median.

No serious injuries were reported in either accident.

Charles Tribble, Coordinator of Transportation for Putnam County Schools, tells WSAZ.com a few school buses were delayed picking up students because of the traffic tie-up.

PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One westbound lane has reopened after two separate accidents along Interstate 64 in Putnam County.

The two accidents happened about 1 p.m. Thursday. Putnam County 911 Dispatchers say one of the accidents happened right before the Teays Valley exit, the other happened just past the exit.

Right now, traffic is backed up to the Scott Depot exit. Charles Tribble, Coordinator of Transportation for Putnam County Schools, tells WSAZ.com a few school buses have been delayed getting to schools in the area because of the traffic tie-up.

A RV was involved in one of the accidents and it appears a cable barrier prevented it from crossing the median. Debris from the accident was all over the roadway.

No serious injuries were reported in either accident.

Again, one westbound lane is now open in the area.

The accidents happened just after 1 p.m.

Putnam County 911 Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com one of the accidents happened right before the Teays Valley exit, the other just past the exit.

A RV was involved in one of the accidents and debris from the accident is on the road. Right now, the RV is in the median.

No one was seriously hurt in either accident.

The westbound lanes are closed in the area. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
