UPDATE: Inmate that Escaped from Officers Captured

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WSAZ) -- An inmate that had been on the run since escaping from officers while heading back to jail, is back behind bars.

Kentucky State Police say Scottie Bradley, 31, of Blue River, Ky., was arrested in Watergap about 9:30 Wednesday night.

Troopers went to the area after getting a report of a man attempting to stop cars along U.S. 23.

Following his arrest, Bradley was taken to the Floyd County Detention Center. He is being charged with second-degree escape.

Prestonsburg Police told WSAZ.com that Bradley was first spotted in the Watergap area Wednesday afternoon and that officers from three agencies along with K-9 were searching in that area.

Officials with the Floyd County Sheriff's Department say Bradley escaped from custody while he and nine other inmates were being transported from the Floyd County Courthouse back to jail Tuesday afternoon.

Bradley was arrested earlier this month in connection with an armed robbery at the McDowell Stop and Shop in McDowell.

At that time, Bradley was charged with robbery, wanton endangerment,
possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, operating a motor vehicle under the Influence of alcohol/drugs, resisting arrest and fleeing or evading police on foot.

Officials with the Floyd County Sheriff's Department say Scottie Bradley, 31, of Blue River, Ky., escaped from custody while he and nine other inmates were being transported from the Floyd County Courthouse back to jail Tuesday afternoon.

Bradley was arrested earlier this month in connection with armed robbery at the McDowell Stop and Shop in McDowell.

Bradley was charged with robbery, wanton endangerment,
possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, operating a motor vehicle under the Influence of alcohol/drugs, resisting arrest and fleeing or evading police on foot.

Bradley’s jumpsuit was reportedly found in the backyard of a Prestonsburg home shortly after his escape.

Bradley is 31-years-old and is 6 foot 5 inches tall, weighs about 175 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities said Bradley is considered dangerous

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WSAZ) -- An inmate accused of recently robbing a convenience store in McDowell and considered to be “extremely dangerous” is on the run after escaping custody Tuesday, Kentucky State Police say.

Scottie R. Bradley, 31, of Blue River, Ky., had just been to a preliminary hearing in Floyd County District Court on first-degree robbery, driving under the influence, resisting arrest, fleeing or evading police on foot, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a felon and traffic offense charges before he fled.

Bradley’s jumpsuit was reported to be found in the backyard of a Prestonsburg home shortly after his escape.

The convenience store robbery happened last week at the McDowell Stop and Shop in McDowell.

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Two people have been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a convenience store in Floyd County.

Kentucky State Police say the robbery happened at the McDowell Stop and Shop in McDowell late Tuesday night.

The clerk told troopers a man entered the store brandishing a gun and wearing a white handkerchief over his face. After getting an undisclosed amount of money, he left the store and got into a green car heading west on Ky. 122.

Troopers later spotted the car and stopped it.

The driver, 31-year-old Scottie Bradley of Blue River, Ky. was arrested and charged with robbery, wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, operating a motor vehicle under the Influence of alcohol/drugs, resisting arrest and fleeing or evading police on foot

A passenger, Kelly Bryant, 43, of Martin, Ky., was arrested and charged with robbery.

Both men are in the the Floyd County Detention Center.
