ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Two people are behind bars following a meth lab bust in Ashland Monday night..
It happened about 8:00 p.m at a house in the 300 block of Wheatley Road.
Boyd County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Jeffery Geiger, 36, and Teresa Jordan, 51, both from Ashland. They are charged with operating a meth lab and possession of both meth and meth-making materials.
The Sheriff says deputies went to the house after getting a call about a possible meth lab.
According to a news release, when Geiger opened the door, deputies noticed a thick cloud of smoke. They also said Geiger admitted to making meth.
Inside the house, deputies said they found several meth labs, finished meth, and several precursors to make meth.
According to deputies, a third person who was inside the house ranout the back door when he saw deputies at the front door.
Both Geiger and Jordan were taken to a local hospital for decontamination before they were taken jail. The two deputies were also decontaminated at the same hospital.
The Sheriff's Office says more arrests are pending in this case.
