UPDATE 8/15/13 @ 7:45 p.m.
FORT GAY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An arson investigation underway in Wayne County, West Virginia.

Two places were hit, within minutes of each other, in Fort Gay, early Tuesday morning.

"It's scary" says Paddle Creek Owner, Miranda Napier. "Is this something towards us? We've been in business 22 years and never had any problem; what's wrong now?"

Surveillance video from the Paddle Creek Marathon, shows an accelerant being poured into the cracks of the storage room door just seconds before giant fire ball erupts. No one was in the storage room at the time.

That's of little comfort to clerks who work there. Victoria Ferguson showed up to work at 7:00 in the morning and thought she smelled paint.

"Something was off, I noticed right away." Ferguson says. "We're all out here trying to make a living. Whoever was doing that, it says to me the person doesn't value life."

A few miles away, Parmjit Garcha, awoke the sound of breaking glass. By the time he got to the back of his house, it was engulfed in flames.

Garcha also has a convenience store; he's is located several miles away in the town of Prichard.

"I don't know if it's prejudice, or what." says Garcha who is of Indian descent. "I don't think this was random, someone tried to kill me."

The connection between the two fires is still under investigation, however the West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office says both cases are arson.

If you have any information surrounding these fires, call the State Fire Marshal's Office Tipline at 1-800-233-3473.

A reward of up to $5000 is being offered for information about the fires.
