Two Home Invasions Appear Connected in Fayette County

Updated: Thu 12:54 PM, Nov 15, 2012

FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two home invasions this year in Fayette County appear to be connected and over drugs.

The latest incident happened on Thursday at a home in the Minden area.

According to a news release, three people, including at least one person with a gun, forced their way into the home, stole some money and all the victims' cellphones.

During the home invasion Jorail Giddings, 21, of Detroit, was shot and Christopher Andrew Jackson, 23, or Detroit, was hit in the head multiple times with the handgun.

Both men were taken to a hospital.

None of the other people in the home were hurt, including three children.

Deputies say this is the same house where a similar incident happened back on January 18 -- and the suspects in both cases match the same description.

Deputies believe the same men were involved in both crimes.

According to the release, the victims say they have no involvement in drug trafficking, but investigators believe both crimes were drug-related.

"When two home-invasion style robberies are conducted at the same residence, and visitors from out of the area are present on both occasions, it certainly would seem to be drug-related," said Sheriff Steve Kessler. "It's impossible that the suspects in each incident merely assumed that someone visiting from out-of-state would have drugs with them, but that's a little hard to believe."

If you have any information, you're uged to call the Fayette County Sheriff's Office at 304-574-4305.
