ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Two people are in the hospital after their truck was hit by a train.

It happened Monday morning in the 1900-block of Front Street in Ashland.

Ashland Police tell the truck was leaving Mansbach Metal, a recycling facility, when it was hit by the train.

Witnesses say the train was blowing its horn, and signals were working. A witness told police that the people in the truck were not paying attention.

Major Todd Kelley says the driver of the truck was Tommy Fletcher and his passenger was Brandi Parson, both of Ashland.

Kelley say both people were taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington. They are in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
