UPDATE: Plea in Indiana Murder; Two Suspects Captured in Ironton

BEDFORD, Ind. (AP/WSAZ) -- One of the three southern Indiana teens charged with the beating death of a man in his rural Indiana home has pleaded guilty to the crime.

Two of those teens were arrested in Ironton, Ohio following the murder.

Monday, 18-year-old Austin Curtin of Bedford, Indiana pleaded guilty to the murder of 43-year-old Rodney Allender back in February.

As part of the plea, Curtin is required to testify against his co-defendants 19-year-old Taylor Flynn of Bedford and a 16-year-old juvenile.

Flynn and the 16-year-old were arrested in Ironton after authorities tracked the teens to the area through one of their his cell phones.

The teens were captured following a foot pursuit after an Ironton Police Officer spotted their car.

Both were later extradited back to Indiana.

IRONTON, Ohio (WSAZ) – One of the two teens arrested in Ironton on fugitive murder warrants out of Indiana has waived extradition.

The teens, 19 and 16, were wanted for the murder of a man in Lawrence County, Indiana last week.

The pair was arrested Saturday in Ironton after authorities tracked one of the teens to the area through his cell phone.

Ironton Police Chief Dan Johnson says once they received a description of the car, an officer remembered seeing a similar car.

Once the car was found, the teens led police on a chase. When the pursuit ended, the two fled on foot. They were found hiding in a van.

Court Officials tell WSAZ.com that 19-year-old Taylor Flynn waived extradition during a hearing in Ironton Municipal Court Monday afternoon.

The status of the 16-year-old juvenile is not known.

A third teen, 18-year-old Austin Curtis, was arrested in Indiana on Friday.

Authorities say the three killed a 43-year-old man at his home in Heltonville, Indiana.

Reports say the motive was robbery.

IRONTON, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Two teenagers wanted on murder charges in Indiana were tracked down and arrested in Ironton, Ohio.

The suspects were tracked through one of their cell phones, and officers started searching for them.

Chief Dan Johnson says once they received a description of the car, an officer remembered seeing a similar car.

Once the car was found, the teens led police on a chase. When the pursuit ended, the two fled on foot.

They were found hiding in a van.

One of the teens has been taken to jail. The other is being held in a juvenile facility.

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Two teenagers are in custody accused of a crime in Indiana.

Sheriff's deputies say a 16-year-old and 19-year-old were arrested in Ironton, Saturday afternoon.

Sheriff Jeff Lawless tells WSAZ.com that the two were located through one of the suspect's cell phones.

Names of the suspects have not yet been released, nor has the crime they're being charged in connection with.
