PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A woman was sent to the hospital, and a man was charged, after a crash in Portsmouth Thursday.
The crash happened about 4:30 p.m. Thursday on US 23 in Portsmouth.
Portsmouth Police say Marshall Worley, 33, of Huntington, was driving a box truck and hit a SUV driven by Tammie Rawlins, 48, of West Portsmouth.
Rawlins had to be extricated from her SUV and was flown to a Huntington hospital where she was treated and released.
Police say Worley was impaired at the time of the crash. They are still waiting on test results to determine what was in Worley's system. He has been charged with aggravated vehicular assault.
Portsmouth Police tell WSAZ.com that two other vehicles were hit in the crash, like a domino effect, but the drivers of those vehicles were not injured.
The road was shut down for several hours Thursday evening.
Police say a box truck slammed into the back of her SUV just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
The woman was flown to a hospital in Huntington but is expected to survive.
Officers say the driver of the box truck, Marshall Worley, 33, of Huntington, was impaired at the time of the crash.
He was arrested and is charged with aggravated vehicular assault.

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- U.S. 23 in Portsmouth is closed due to a crash involving a box truck and a car.
Portsmouth Police Dispatchers say the crash was reported about 4:25 p.m. Thursday.
Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com the U.S. 23 is shut down from the 1300 block of Chillicothe Street to Kenny's Lane.
They say at least one person is trapped.
