CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The city of Charleston will honor veterans Friday with a parade through downtown.
The 69th annual Veterans Day Parade is set for 10 a.m.
More than 50 military units are expected to march in the parade.
"The things we take for granted is what's been provided for us by veterans a lot of which aren't with us anymore and there will be a lot of veterans downtown and we hope that people will come out and let them know we appreciate them," Charleston Mayor Danny Jones said.
The route is different this year and will start at the South Side Bridge, then head down Capitol Street to Quarrier Street, then onto Goshorn Street which will connect back to the boulevard.
