VINTON COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A Vinton County man is behind bars after allegedly beating his estranged wife.
The Vinton County Sheriff says Thomas Jones, 36, of Hamden, Ohio, is charged with attempted murder and felonious assaut.
Sheriff Sawn Justice says Jones went to the home of his estranged wife Wednesday and assaulted her.
Justice says the 37-year-old woman suffered blunt force trauma to the head, face and neck. She was taken to a Huntington hospital for her injuries. No word on her condition.
The Sheriff is not releasing the type of weapon used in the alleged assault.
Justice says two children were home at the time of the incident. They were released to a family member.
Jones was taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail. His bond was set at $250,000.
