Elementary School Gets Public Water

NICHOLAS COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- After years of shipping in water to provide safe driving water, a school in Nicholas County will soon have public water.

A dedication ceremony for the Gauley River Public Service District Summersville Water Line Extension Phase II. This project includes Zela Elementary School.

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at the school. Several state and local officials will attend the ceremony.

After years of relying on bottled water to provide driving water for 120 plus children and staff at the school, water fountains will once again be functional, according to a news release.

Zela Elementary is the last elementary school in Nicholas County to receive public water.
