ROANE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man from Roane County tried to cross a creek and had to be rescued from high water.
The incident happened about 6 a.m. Monday in Amma.
Firefighters tell WSAZ.com the man was rescued after he tried to use a driveway at a car wash that runs through the creek.
The driver told emergency crews the water was much higher than he thought when he tried to cross the creek to get on Big Sandy Road where he lives.
Emergency crews had to make two attempts before they were able to finally rescue the driver.
The man sat on top of his vehicle until emergency crews were able to get him out.
He was not hurt.
