SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A woman from West Portsmouth has been arrested after being indicted on heroin.
A deputy with the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office arrested 54-year-old Cynthia Skaggs on December 27.
A grand jury back in September indicted Skaggs on charges of trafficking in heroin within the vicinity of a juvenile, trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin, tampering with evidence and possession of criminal tools.
The sheriff says on June 8, 2012 a Sheriff’s Deputy assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a traffic stop involving Skaggs. She then led officers to her West Portsmouth residence where officers say they found 74 packages of Heroin totaling 3.6 grams of Heroin.
Skaggs is being held in the Scioto County Jail without bond and awaiting an arraignment in Scioto County Common Pleas Court.
