UPDATE 11/15/13 @ 12:11 a.m.
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Crews estimate it will be an hour before the westbound lanes of Interstate 64 near the Institute exit will be back open.

Two accidents have shutdown that stretch of road.

The first accident happened when a car, with five people inside, hit a deer.

One person was thrown from the vehicle. Emergency crews on the scene say there were no serious injuries but the people involved will be taken to the hospital to get checked out.

As crews were handling that accident a four-car-pile-up happened in the fast lane.

All four cars have to be towed which is why the road will be closed for some time.

No serious injuries were reported in the second crash.
