HUNTINGON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The stress of the bad roads and treacherous travel mixed with the quickly approaching holiday leaves a lot of people with mixed reactions.
Folks at the Ashland Mall Friday night were working around the weather to get one step closer to finishing their Christmas shopping.
"It does kind of get you in the Christmas spirit just a few days away,” Cecilia Purtee from Portsmouth said. “It is nice. Unfortunately there's still a lot more shopping and a lot more driving left to do."
The winter mix also affected the Ironton Classic Basketball Tournament.
M.A.C.K Prep from North Carolina was two hours late arriving Thursday because of the snow.
Thundering Herd fans are remembering what it was like in St. Petersburg, Florida this time last year.
Friday night, they were stuck watching the Beef ‘O’ Brady's Bowl on TV.
"A little bit of sleet and snow and a little bit of Tampa was a lot better,” Josh Taylor said at the Union Pub & Grill. “After a little vacation to Florida, I can understand why everybody retires there now."
