RAVENSWOOD, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman is behind bars accused of forging a prescription to get pills.
Ravenswood Police arrested Amanda Maynard, 32, of Reedsville, Ohio, after police say she came to Ravenswood to fill her mother's prescription.
Officers say Maynard's mother is sick and her doctor originally prescribed loratab pills but later changed her prescription. Maynard took the old prescription to the Rite Aid and forged her sister's signature to get pills, according to police.
Family members suspected Maynard forged the prescription when her sister tried to get the new prescription filled for her mother and was questioned.
That's when Maynard's sister contacted police who later made the arrest.
Maynard was charged with obtaining a prescription through fraud or misrepresentation. She's being held in the South Central Regional Jail.
