CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman is facing charges after police say she was found passed out and intoxicated in a car on Charleston's East End with her children.

Police say Ashley Pyles was parked at the intersection of Beauregard and Jackson Streets on Tuesday.

According to the criminal complaint, she was passed out as her three children played inside and outside of the car along a busy street.

Employees at Sojourner's Shelter saw the kids and took them to safety and called 911.

When police arrived they asked Pyles where her children were and according to the criminal complaint told officers she thought they were with their grandmother.

Police say Pyles admitted to drinking vodka.

Three children were with Pyles and they ranged in age from six to two-years-old.
