HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman is facing felony charges and more than a decade in jail for selling her mom's car for drug money.

Amanda Terry, 32, of Salt Rock, is charged with forgery and obtaining money under false pretenses.

West Virginia State Police say on September 17, Terry took her mother's 2006 Jeep Liberty and forged the title, by signing "Gift from Mother" on it.

The next day, State Police say Terry took it to a pawn shop and pawned it for $8,960 -- without her mother's consent.

A week later, State Police talked to Terry and she admitted that she knew the vehicle was not a gift, but pawned it for child support money and to support her pain pill addiction.
