MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman who walked away from the Gallipolis Work Release Center has been caught and is now facing more charges.
Theresa Lee Artz, 37, was arrested about 11:45 Tuesday morning in Point Pleasant, W.Va.
Police Chief Ernie Waterson tells WSAZ.com that he spotted Artz in a car at a gas station in Point Pleasant. He took her into custody and charged her with obstructing and possession. A needle with drug residue was found in the vehicle.
Artz was wanted out of Gallia County after deputies say she left the work release center Monday night without permission. She was serving time for a felony theft charge. Now she will also face an escape charge in Gallia County.
The Gallia County Sheriff’s Office says Theresa Lee Artz, 37, left the center grounds without permission Monday night.
Artz was at the center on a felony theft charge.
She was last seen wearing gray sweat pants, an orange inmate shirt with blue undershirt and a gray coat.
Artz is about 4’11” and has brown hair and blue eyes.
