RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A West Virginia State Trooper was forced to pull the trigger on a woman who called 911 saying she was going to commit suicide.
State Police tell WSAZ.com the incident happened Thursday night in Coal City, in Raleigh County.
According to WVSP, troopers tried to talk the woman out of committing suicide, but she turned the weapon on the trooper -- forcing a trooper to fatally shoot her.
The trooper is on paid leave, which is protocol.
The woman was 47-years-old.
