CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman who crashed into a parked car Sunday morning is now facing her third DUI arrest in one year.

Police said Gwendolyn Edwards, of Charleston, crashed into Robert Carter’s parked car on Central Avenue at Elm Street.

Edwards was arrested twice in June 2012 for driving under the influence, according to the criminal complaint.

“It just ain't my day,” said Robert Carter on Sunday.

Carter tells WSAZ he recently paid off the Mercury Sable that was ruined.

“I guess I'll have to junk it, it’s a shame I just paid it off,” Carter added.

According to the family, police said they were one block away from the scene when they heard the crash.

“They said they were sitting down there and they heard a loud boom, like it was an explosion,” said relative Shontay Lane.

Lane said while the family is angry over the car, they’re relieved no one was hurt.

“What if she had slammed into the car with my kids in there,” Lane said, “anything could have happened."

Edwards' license was revoked because of the previous DUIs. She was charged with a third DUI and driving with a revoked license.
