HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two women have been charged with trying to use counterfeit money to make a large purchase at a Huntington store.
Huntington Police arrested Jennifer Thompson, 26, of Huntington, and Emily Ballengee, 20, of Barboursville, Tuesday afternoon.
The clerk at the store told police the pair tried to pay for $345 in merchandise at the West 14th store with fake money, most of which were $10 bills.
The two women were arrested a short distance from the store. Police say they found $970 in counterfeit money in their car, according to the criminal complaint.
The women were charged with counterfeiting.
