19-Year-Old Pulled Over with Pot Plants in Car, Facing Cultivation Charge

MILTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A 19-year-old from Dunbar is facing drug charges after being spotted with several marijuana plants in the back of his car.

According to the criminal complaint, Sheriff Tom McComas spotted William Fulknier, 19, of Dunbar, driving through Milton with what looked to be two marijuana plants in the back of his car. Sheriff McComas pulled the vehicle over near the intersection of Route 60 and 2nd Street in Milton.

Sheriff McComas and Officer Collins with the Milton Police Department then got permission from Fulknier to search his car, according to the criminal complaint.

During the search the following items were found:

  • 1 black light
  • 4 bongs
  • 3 silver White Owl cigarello packs
  • 1 gas mask marijuana smoking device
  • 3 bottles of visine
  • 1 marijuana grinder
  • 3 marijuana plants

    According to the criminal complaint, the three plants were 52", 48" and 38" tall.

    Fulknier was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana. He told officers that he had gone to HowToGrowMarijuana.com to get information on growing.

    Fulknier is being held in the Western Regional Jail. He is facing one to 15 years in jail and/or up to a $25,000 fine.
