HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- To cook or not to cook? That is quickly becoming the question about planning your Thanksgiving feast.
Thanks to pre-made meals, folks no longer have to toil over a hot stove to have that perfect home-cooked meal.
But is it really worth the money to save the time? We did some cost comparison -- weighing the perks and the prices. We hit the grocery store aisles to find out, purchasing several items including a 10- to 12-pound turkey, dinner rolls and a pumpkin pie.
Our price with just the essential items -- not including any special ingredients or seasonings -- totaled a little more than $31. A similar store-bought meal was about $27 more -- worth it perhaps when you consider the time and cleanup saved.
If you think you want to order a pre-cooked meal, you're advised to get your order in soon. Many stores and restaurants have capped their meals and have already sold out.
