HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- It seems like a fake text message is causing all sorts of confusion.

People all around the region have been calling the station asking about an Amber Alert they received via text message.

The message says a 7-year-old girl from St. Mary’s was taken by a man driving a newer silver truck. The message also gives a license plate.

However, the message is a fake and there is not an Amber Alert.

Many local 911 dispatchers say they've also been getting all kinds of calls concerning the text message.

We've also found numerous reports of the same text message making its way around the entire nation. The last line of the message says "please keep this going."

But again, the Amber Alert is not true.
