SEVERE WEATHER: High Water Reported Throughout Region
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Severe weather has been reported in a number of communities.
911 dispatchers in Wayne County tell WSAZ.com that Spring Valley Drive is now back open. It was closed for a short time to let the water go down.
Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com dozens of homes and cars are flooded.
Kenova in also underwater as of 7:30 p.m. Saturday. 911 dispatchers tell us raw sewage is also pouring into a church along Walnut Street.
This is the same church that flooded back in May.
911 dispatchers in Scioto County, Ohio tell WSAZ.com downed trees are the biggest concerns there. The high winds caused the most damage in the Minford area.
Dispatchers also tell us a suspected tornado injured several people and destroyed some mobile homes in Pike County, Ohio. Several homes were also damaged.
We're told the possible tornado hit the area of Buchanan in the
northwest part of the county around 4:00 p.m. Saturday. The National Weather Service will investigate to make that determination.
