HURRICANE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two strangers connected forever by fate had the chance to meet each other Saturday.

On Easter weekend, Nick Passero was running at Ritter Park when he collapsed.

Chuck Dent happened to be nearby, performed CPR and revived Passero.

He even drove Passero's daughters to the hospital

Three months have passed and Saturday was the first time they saw each other again.

"I got a second chance. Every day is a bonus. Every day is a good day. If things don't quite go so well, oh well, tomorrow's another day and it's still a good day," Passero said. "Now I'm going to get to see my kids grow up."

Passero says because of the heart defects he was born with doctors said he should have died in his 20's.

Dent credits another woman who helped him perform CPR. He says he doesn't know her name, but she deserves recognition as well.

Passero is a native of Cabell County, but currently lives in Winston-Salem, N.C. Dent lives in Hurricane, W.Va.
