HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The number of people who oppose the Cabell-Huntington Health Department's proposed public smoking ban is getting larger.
On Monday night, bar owners joined forces to talk about a plan. The bar owners who oppose this possible ban are trying to figure out how to work with the health department, as well as save their businesses.
They say they know smoking is a health concern but also want to prove that a smoking ban would be harmful to their establishments.
The bar owners met at the VFW Post 1064 to rally and talk about the ramifications of a potential smoking ban. One owner says bad mouthing the health board will not solve anything, but showing up to a public hearing next week could speak volumes.
The health department will have its public meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28.
