Going Even Greener at MU with Recycling

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Marshall University students are learning that bleeding green and going green are different matters.
But Elizabeth Rutherford, the head of a new recycling program at Marshall, hopes it's just a matter of time. In fact -- in just a few months time -- there's been a growing educational push to recycle.
Each Marshall student pays $10 a year in tuition fees to help the university go green.
The university estimates that instead of going to a landfill, it has shipped 13 tons of paper and plastic off to be recycled since the recycling push began.
The recycling group is even working with Marshall's Child Development Academy. Preschoolers are recycling every day and going home to tell their parents.
