HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A countywide smoking ban was approved Wednesday by the Cabell County Board of Health.
The ban now includes bingo halls and bars that were previously exempt. This includes outdoor patio areas that are attached to bars.
All restaurants and public places already had banned smoking.
Smokers, including Gary Stanley of Huntington, say the ban isn't right and will have a drastic economic impact.
"They didn't have a right to make the decision in the first place," he said. "I don't think they considered the rights of employees. I don't think they considered the rights of private members, and I think it's going to ultimately hurt the economy dramatically."
Four members of the health board voted in favor of the ban, while one member abstained from voting.
