HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A man charged with robbing a Huntington convenience store has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
On Tuesday morning, Marcellus Williams, 32, of Cleveland, pleaded guilty to robbing the Go-Mart on Washington Avenue in May.
Williams was arrested shortly after the robbery. Canine units led officers to a nearby apartment complex where he was located.
Police say Williams used a gun during the robbery. No one was hurt.
Police officers tell WSAZ.com Marcellus D. Williams, 32, of Cleveland, Ohio entered the Go-Mart on 10th St. West and Washington Ave., pulled out a hand gun, demanded money from the register and fled the store.
Canine units were brought to the scene and led officers to Adams Landing Apartments in the 800 block of Virginia Ave. where Williams was located and arrested.
Police say they are still looking for the gun which may have been discarded along the way.
Williams is currently being held at the Western Regional Jail where he is being charged with 1st degree armed robbery.
