HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man armed with a pistol held up the Baskin-Robbins at the intersection of Hal Greer Boulevard and Washington Boulevard, Huntington Police say.

It was reported just before 7 p.m. Friday.

Employees of the ice cream shop said a man pulled out a pistol and demanded money.

Employees removed the cash drawer from the register, and the suspect took several bills.

A person standing in the lobby area attempted to push the suspect out of the store. The suspect resisted, pushed the man aside and walked to the back of the store looking for more cash.

He then left through the front door and fled west. Officers arrived three minutes after the call came out and set up a perimeter.

A K-9 unit tracked a scent trail about a block west of the store, indicating a vehicle may have been used.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The suspect is described as about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was believed to have a mustache and is possibly in his late 20s.

He was wearing a black leather jacket, jeans and a gray-hooded jacket under an outside jacket. The suspect also was wearing a black watch cap (stocking cap).

During the robbery, he had a shirt pulled up over his lower face.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 304-696-4444.
