UPDATE 12/17/13 @ 10 p.m.
CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man was arrested Tuesday in connection with two recent armed robberies at a tanning salon in the Eastern Heights Shopping Center in Huntington.

West Virginia State Police say Kristian Brown, 29, confessed to robbing the Sun Shack tanning salon Monday night and in November.

Troopers say Brown went to the business Monday, showed a knife and took off with cash.

Brown's picture was clearly captured on the salon's new video surveillance system.

Following the November robbery, the owners installed high quality security cameras they purchased from Sam's Club.

"We were very impressed when we purchased the security cameras,” owner Racheal Ratliff said. “We figured that would help out if we ever had another robbery."

After the security video aired on WSAZ, State Police say it didn't take long for the tips to come in.

"A lot of people called in and recognized his face,” Trooper Shane Smith said. “The video quality was great. That really helped us out. Nobody said any other name beside his."

Smith says Brown told troopers he’d seen the security video of himself on TV Monday night. He also said he wasn’t surprised when troopers showed at his home to arrest him.

Trooper Smith says Brown had already been indicted on eight unrelated charges and was awaiting sentencing on those charges before his arrest Tuesday.

Ratliff says the security cameras cost about $300.
