HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman has been charged with malicious wounding following a fight with her estranged husband.
West Virginia State Police tell WSAZ.com Tony Adkins, 35 was at his girlfriend's house on Burlington Road in Huntington when his estranged wife, Tara Adkins, 33 showed up about 8 p.m. Sunday.
Troopers say when Tony told Tara to leave, she slapped him and refused. That's when troopers say the pair started fighting and Tera pulled out a knife, stabbing Tony several times.
Tony was able to get the knife away from Tara, and she received minor injuries during a struggle.
Both were treated at local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers tell WSAZ.com Tara Adkins has been charged with Malicious Wounding. She is in the Western Regional Jail.

It happened about 8 p.m. Sunday on Burlington Road in Huntington. Troopers say the man and woman were fighting when they stabbed each other.
The man suffered three stab wounds, including one to the stomach and two in the back. The woman was stabbed in the throat and was also sliced in the hand.
Troopers say none of the injuries are life threatening, and charges are pending.
