UPDATE: Route 60 Back Open after Fatal Accident

BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The eastbound lanes of Route 60 are reopening following a fatal accident.

It happened about 11:25 p.m. Friday.

Barboursville Police say a motorcycle t-boned a car at the intersection of Route 60 and Alternate Route 10.

The driver of the bike, Stephen Erwin, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the car, Bridget Adkins, was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Emergency crews are on the scene of a fatal accident on Route 60.

It happened about 11:25 p.m. Friday.

Police at the scene tell WSAZ.com a car was turning onto Route 60 from Alternate Route 10 when it appears the driver of a motorcycle ran a red light and hit the car.

Barboursville Police say the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Nobody else was in the car.

Police say both eastbound lanes of Route 60 will be closed until about 1:30 a.m.

Barboursville Police are investigating the crash.
