UPDATE: No Injuries in Huntington House Fire

UPDATE @ 7:30 a.m.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- No injuries in a house fire in Huntington early Monday morning.

The fire happened in the 2800 block of 8th Avenue about 1 a.m.

The house was a duplex and firefighters say the people living upstairs got out okay. The people living downstairs were not at home when the fire started.

Firefighters say fire was shooting out of the second floor of the house when they arrived on the scene. At short time later, the roof of the house collapsed.

No word how the fire started. The State Fire Marshal is handling the investigation.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington firefighters on the scene of a large house fire in the 2800 block of 8th Avenue tell WSAZ.com they believe everyone made it out of the structure safely.

The building was a duplex, and firefighters say they believe the downstairs residents were away when the fire started. The upstairs residents are accounted for.

Firefighters did a sweep of the first floor when they arrived on scene, and made it out of the building shortly before the roof collapsed.

At this time there is no word on what may have started the fire.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington firefighters are on the scene of a large house fire in the 2800 block of 8th Avenue.

The fire started about 1 a.m. Monday.

Cabell County 911 dispatchers say there are reports that people may be trapped inside.

Our crews at the scene say there are large flames and lots of smoke coming from the home.
