UPDATE: Man Hurt in Fiery Crash in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man was taken to the hospital Monday night after a fiery crash in the 3200 block of Riverside Drive, police tell WSAZ.com.

Huntington Police say it appears the driver went off the road, jumped a barrier and took out a couple of parking signs and a concrete barrier -- all before crashing head on into a power pole.

The car went up in flames when it finally landed on the parking lot of Special Metals. The crash initially was reported to Cabell County 911 as a hit and run.

An EMT from inside the plant pulled the unconscious man out of the car. There was no word on his condition.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One person was hurt in a fiery car crash Monday night that caused one of the cars to flip onto its top in the 3200 block of Riverside Drive, Cabell County 911 dispatchers say.

The crash was reported at 9:19 p.m. Monday as a hit and run. It happened in the Altizer community of Huntington.

Bystanders managed to pull the person from the overturned car to safety. That person most likely will be taken to the hospital, dispatchers say. The extent of that person's injuries was not available.
