UPDATE: Wreck Sends Three to Hospital

UPDATE 6/22/12 @ 10 p.m.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A crash in the 3100 block of Hal Greer Boulevard sent three people to the hospital Friday night, Huntington Police at the scene tell WSAZ.com.

Police say a Chevy Cavalier and Chevy Blazer collided about 8:20 p.m. Friday at the intersection of the road leading to Kinetic Park. Businesses at that intersection include Bob Evans, Wendy's and Marathon.

Huntington firefighters had to extricate the driver of the Cavalier. Police say his back and chest were badly injured.

James Ramey was driving the Blazer. He says he'd just left work at Cabell Huntington Hospital and was headed for the interstate when he saw the Cavalier pulling out into the intersection from Kinetic Park. Ramey says he had the green light and no time to slow down.

“I got to the red light, and the guy didn't stop,” Ramey said. “He just kept rolling and rolling, and I didn't have time to hit the brakes or anything, and he was out in front of me before I knew what was going on."

Police say the passenger of the Cavalier was also injured and taken to the hospital.

The man riding with Ramey was taken, as well. His head had smashed into the windshield, Ramey said.

The roadway reopened about 9 p.m. Friday.
