Break-ins Reported at Park and Rides in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Cabell County Sheriff's deputies are investigating numerous car break-ins and thefts at two Park and Ride parking lots in Huntington.

Detective Jeffery Sansom say he has received nearly 20 reports during the last year from the Park and Rides alone.

He says thieves are targeting the lots along 5th and 16th streets near Interstate 64 by busting out car windows and stealing what's inside.

He says they are also stealing car batteries by cutting the wires under the hood and taking them out of the car to be resold.

Deputies are searching for one man they believe is responsible for one of the break-ins. They were able to track him down when he used the credit card he stole at a nearby gas station.

If you have any information on who that man could be, deputies ask that you call the Cabell County Sheriff's Office at (304) 743-1594.
