BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Barboursville Police are investigating several storefront windows that were shot out with marbles over the weekend.

Barboursville Police call it "senseless vandalism and destruction of property of good, hard working people."

They say between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday morning, someone drove around the area, shooting out windows with marbles. They believe a slingshot was used.

Several businesses from East Mall Road to Huntington on Route 60, and even onto 5th Avenue downtown, were vandalized.

Police say the vandals left a path of thousands of dollars of damage. And the damage at one store in Barboursville was $10,000 alone.

Several of the marbles have been collected from the crime scene. Police say they are clear in color, like the ones used to decorate.
