HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Senior citizens took advantage of a free check-up from head to toe, Saturday morning.
Cabell Huntington hospital had its third annual SeniorFest.
Anyone over age 50 had the chance to get screenings and health information from nearly every department in the hospital.
Some of the main focuses included flu shots, blood tests and cholesterol screenings; all of the things that can be easy to forget about.
"Some of these guys they get these great cars, they wouldn't dream of driving their car ten-thousand miles without giving it a tune-up, but we don't do that with our bodies," Joy Pelfrey with Cabell Huntington Hospital said. "And most of the diseases that hit us as we age can be prevented if we know ahead of time what's going on and we're looking for them to happen."
Organizers say the attendance at SeniorFest has tripled each year.
